Front Page

Last summer, while my dad was working a person for the newspaper wanted to take some photos of the makeover a building was getting done. He ended up getting is picture on front page of the paper. Let's just say my we both a couple of copies and my grandparents were handed a copy (from a friend) to keep.
I used the the Frosted Designs # 35 sketch and I also made it for the current challenge

Junk Drawer Card

First before showing the card I want to tell you about this giveaway a friend of my over on Club CK is doing. She is giving away a One year subscription to Creating Keepsakes Magazine. Here is the link to her blog for more info.
Now onto the card.
I took a challenge over on Club CK. It was last week's card challenge (use an junk drawer item on a card).
I use a Formica counter top sample for the black piece behind the sentiment. I also use this sketch over at cardabilities.

DIY Hand Sewn Template

If you are like me and you don't have any of the templates that are for hand sewing design elements like swirls, I have an easy fix.
All you need is:
a tracing wheel
flourish stamp (not too intricate)
ink
cardstock scrap
pin
Step 1. Stamp image onto the cardstock.
Step 2. Trace with tracing wheel. Use enough pressure so little bumps are left on the back of the paper.
Step 3 On the reveres side of paper rub the ink pad lightly across bumps.
Step 4 Poke holes with the pin where you see the dots.
Now you have a DIY template for hand sewing.
How to use:
1. Place the template over the desired area of your scrapbook page or card .
2. Use a pin to pierce a hole in your scrapbook page for each hole provided in the stitching template.
3. Remove the template, and use the holes as your guide to create a stitched design.

Missed

I  participated in the Frosted Design's sketch challenge they had. I finished last week but forgot to post it before Sunday's deadline. I still want to show it off even though I missed it.
Here it is. It is of my mom.
Even though it was for a Frosted Design sketch challenge I am also using as this week's Erika's Issue Challenge over on Club CK and the fabric covered chipboard from Scrapfit.

Here is a card I created that I never thought I would ever use a bee before. I think this came out super cute.

I Intended

I was planing on posting a couple of times this week but time got away. I had a full plate last week trying to get projects done for deadlines (I missed one), finishing up some Valentines, and trying to lose a cough I have (it is going away).
On to cards now.
The first one I sent to a friend.
I was inspired by this challenge over at Burlap & Buttercups.
Next card was done for three different challenges: pink one hour challenge on Club CK,  Bo Bunny card challenge and Frosted Design challenge. Papers and brad is from Bo Bunny.
Last thing was this page I created with no sketch in mind. I love how it came out. I also used my signature element. Pom-pom trim. I LOVE that stuff. I love to layer items and different textures on paper crafted items.

Valentine's Blog Hop

Welcome to your last blog. If you didn't come from Hattie's Blog go back to the start at Amanda’s blog.
For my card I made this cute mosaic that I am going to give to my Mom this year.

I used kraft and white cardstock, bakers twine, apron lace border punch, doily die cut from the Mother's Day cartridge from Cricut and  what Amanda sent me.
With the left overs I also made a bookmark.

I am giving the bookmark away to a lucky follower.
Leave me a comment. Then leave me ANOTHER comment telling me if you are a follower. If you're not a follower yet, I'd love to have you join my blog! Leave me a comment telling me you're a new follower. (total of 2 possible comments per person) I'll draw a winner on Sunday (Feb. 5th) and post it here!
